For Manufacturers of Made-to-Order Products

Stop quoting configurable products by hand

KonfigX builds web-based configurators that let your customers configure your product themselves, with live calculations and production-ready data generated automatically.

Every custom quote eats engineering hours

If your product is configurable but quoted manually, every enquiry pulls an engineer away from real work.

Manual quoting today

  • Back-and-forth emails for every variant
  • Engineers redoing the same CAD work
  • Days of delay before the customer gets a price
  • Transcription errors into the ERP

With a KonfigX configurator

  • Customer configures online, sees it in 3D
  • Design rules built in: only valid configs
  • Instant price and feasibility, no waiting
  • Clean data straight to production / ERP

From a configurable product to a quote in minutes

01 · We build the configurator

Your customers configure it themselves

A web-based configurator with live 3D that updates as they adjust dimensions and options, embedded directly on your site.

Invalid configurations simply aren't selectable

Limits, loads and stresses are checked in the browser. Anything outside the stored limits can't be configured. The formal structural safety certification is done by your engineering firm, not the configurator.

CONFIG DXF · BOM ERP / PRODUCTION
03 · You choose how it connects

Output matches your setup, not the other way round

Standalone: DXF, STEP, BOM or PDF quote, no connection needed.

Data sync: nightly export keeps prices and components current.

Full integration: live two-way connection, scoped separately.

Typical go-live: 8–12 weeks from first call to production.

Common questions

Five-second test: does the customer choose dimensions or options, do some combinations become invalid depending on what else is chosen, does someone redo similar CAD or calculations for every enquiry? Three yes answers, it fits.
It's not complexity that decides, it's repetition. A simple product you quote fifty times a year in slightly different dimensions is a better fit than a highly complex one-off that's never quite the same twice. A project rarely gets hard because of geometry, it gets hard because of rules that exist only in one person's head and were never written down. We work that out in the feasibility workshop below. If every job at your company is a complete redesign with nothing that repeats, a configurator is the wrong tool. We'll tell you that.
Drawings or CAD of one reference product, the rules and limits that constrain it, your cost and price logic, and roughly three to four working sessions with whoever actually knows the product. Most of the work is ours, not yours.

Four things make up the price:

  • Feasibility workshop: half a day, fixed price confirmed upfront, a written scope and effort estimate, credited in full if the project goes ahead.
  • Build: one-off, priced after the workshop based on scope.
  • DynaMaker platform licence: monthly, per application, passed through at cost, we don't mark it up.
  • Operation and maintenance: monthly, covers updates to rules, materials, limits and prices.

ERP integration is scoped and quoted separately, see the next question.

What does manual quoting actually cost you?

A rough estimate, not a promise, adjust the numbers to match your team.

Estimated annual cost of manual quoting
CHF 28'000

Most projects pay for themselves within the first year.

Most projects go live 8–12 weeks from the first call. Where you land in that range depends on how many variants you have, how well your rules are already documented (a written spec sheet saves weeks over knowledge in someone's head), and whether a system integration is part of phase one or comes later.

Three levels, most projects start at the first. Standalone: rules and prices live in the configurator, output as DXF, STEP, a bill of materials or a PDF quote.

Data sync: your system writes a nightly export automatically, no manual step, the configurator always reads current components, prices and lead times from it.

Full integration: a live two-way connection including order creation, scoped as its own project once the configurator is running.

It embeds directly into your existing website in all three cases, exactly like the live demos on this page.

The app runs on DynaMaker, an established platform, not on infrastructure of ours. We build it in the KonfigX DynaMaker account and transfer it into your own account once it's ready, you get full access to the code and everything in it, you are not locked to us. DynaMaker also has other partners internationally who can take over an existing application if that's ever needed. Day to day, we handle updates whenever your specs, materials, limits or prices change.
